Field Training Exercises (FTX)

The Squadron conducts two weekend Field Training Exercises a year. Every cadet must attend at least one in order to pass their level. Included in a FTX is multiple mandatory, and compulsory classes that are a part of their cadet training that can’t otherwise be taught at the unit on a Wednesday evening. Classes taught include, orienteering (compass), radio operations, various survival classes, rescue/down pilot scenarios, leadership taskings, camaraderie building, dealing with various weather conditions, shelter building, and team building exercises.
